Get ready for an epic reunion, people!
On Friday, some big news about The Big Bang Theory was announced at Comic-Con by the show's executive producer, Steven Olaro. Katey Sagal, who played Kaley Cuoco's mother on the hit ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules, has been tapped to play Penny's mom, Susan. Sagal will appear on the first episode of the forthcoming season this fall, along with Penny's brother, Randall, who will be played by 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer. Yeah, now that's some epic casting right there.
Susan is described as neurotic and totally stressed out ― all of which is a result of having spent too much time with her troubled son. Randall, on the other hand, will be a former ex-con and drug dealer with a very cheery disposition. Wow, sounds like Penny's family is totally bonkers, and we are totally game with this narrative!
Madame Secretary's Keith Carradine portrays Penny's father, Wyatt. Let's hope we get a few scenes with the whole family because that would be epic. Can you imagine how many jokes Sheldon will spurt out uncontrollably?
Although fans had to wait an eternity to meet Penny's mom, it was definitely worthwhile. Season 10 is going to be out of this world good.
The Big Bang Theory returns to CBS Monday, September 19 at 8/7c.
