Kathy Griffin Is Persona Non Grata at CNN

Kathy Griffin's New Year's Eve blunder was a big one. The My Life on the D-List star co-hosted a CNN special with Anderson Cooper for the second year in a row, and she dropped an F-bomb while trying to pronounce Falcon Heene's (aka Balloon Boy's) name. Needless to say, the network wasn't pleased.

CNN released a statement shortly after the broadcast saying the network "regrets that profanity was used during our New Year's Eve coverage," and PopEater reports that Griffin has been banned from the channel altogether. An insider told the gossip site, "She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves 'The Most Trusted Name in News.' Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it's time to say goodbye to Kathy."

Besides the swearing, Kathy also stirred up trouble by making drug-related and sexual references. Yikes. And on top of everything, the ratings bombed. Still, CNN publicist Shimrit Sheetrit has remained mum on the network's future plans, saying, "No decisions have been made yet regarding next year's show."
