Calling all Keanu fans!
We might not have to wait for the Destination Wedding premiere to watch Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves get hitched because, well, they may already have tied the knot... 25 years ago. Not knowing if you're MARRIED TO KEANU REEVES isn't a level of privilege I can relate to, but hey, this is why we love her.
During a press tour for the film, Ryder revealed their on-screen romance translates off-screen because they may "accidentally" have married each other on the set of Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1992.
As you'll recall, Ryder and Reeves played Mina and Jonathan Harker and got married in a scene set in Romania. According to Ryder, their fake wedding might have been legally binding.
Allow us to refresh your memory:
"We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life,” Ryder told Entertainment Weekly. "In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest... We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married."
Reeves didn't seem to recall the entire incident, but Ryder remembered it vividly.
"We said yes?" he asked, to which she replied, "Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day."
Maybe Reeves had an epiphany or maybe he just decided to play along, but he ended up confirming the legality of their nuptials: "Oh my gosh, we’re married," he said.
I don't know about you, but two A-listers suddenly finding out they've been married for more than two decades sounds like a rom-com waiting to happen. You know what? Maybe Reeves and Ryder are the Hollywood power couple we deserve.
Married or not, catch the two of them falling head over heels in Destination Wedding, which hits theaters August 31.
