Kelly Clarkson has American Idol to thank for her rise to fame, and she did just that on Sunday.
As the 34-year-old pointed out, the day marked the 14th anniversary of her big win on the hit Fox singing competition's very first season.
"14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door w/such amazing opportunities & experiences 4 me!" she wrote via Twitter on Sunday morning. "I am 4ever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more"
Clarkson was only 20 when she beat out hundreds of other hopeful contestants for the honor of being crowned the first "American Idol." The win paved the way for her to release seven studio albums, selling 25 million albums worldwide. She remains the best-selling "Idol" of all time, and has won three Grammys as of 2016.
American Idol ran from 2002-2015, airing a full 15 seasons under the leadership of Ryan Seacrest, Brian Dunkleman, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson.
The show's time on air may be through, but it brought some of the country's most awe-inspiring talents to light in a world that may otherwise have glossed over them. Other notable winners include Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, and Phillip Phillips.
Clarkson married husband Brandon Blackstock in 2013. The couple have two children, 2-year-old River Rose Blackstock and 4-month-old Remington Alexander Blackstock.
Congrats now and always to the ever humble Kelly Clarkson on her many, many achievements.
