Kelly Ripa to Announce Her New 'Live' Co-Host on Monday

After a long search, Kelly Ripa has finally found a co-host to replace Michael Strahan on Live With Kelly.

In the spring of 2016, Strahan abruptly left the show in favor of a gig with Good Morning America, leaving Ripa somewhat high and dry. The move was controversial, as Ripa hadn't been informed Strahan would be leaving. Understandably, the actress expressed public confusion and displeasure that she hadn't been granted the professional courtesy. Strahan had been with the show for four years.

Now, a full year and multiple guest hosts later, Ripa is ready to cast her new partner.

"We're going to need a bigger mug," she teased via Twitter on Sunday, hashtagging the words "#TuneInToLive #BigAnnouncement #LiveKellyCohost."

Curiouser and curiouser.

In December, Ripa addressed the hunt while appearing on Watch What Happens Live.

"We really didn’t set a timeframe for ourselves," she said. "We just wanted to wait until we found the right person. What we didn’t anticipate was that we would have such an outpouring of interest, so our list got very long very quickly. So we've been trying to keep it as narrow as possible, but then people pop up."

According to Variety, the mystery co-host will not be one of her previous partners, ruling out faces like Anderson Cooper, Fred Savage, Andy Cohen, and Jerry O’Connell.

Tune in for Live With Kelly (and ?) Monday, May 1 to find out who will replace Strahan!
