British-born actress Kim Cattrall
will be given an honorary degree at a ceremony at the University of Liverpool later this year. And the Sex and the City 2
star can't wait to don the traditional cap and gown.
She said: "I was born there and have a lot of family there. I can't wait to get into a gown and wear one of those caps. Very sexy."
Cattrall is set to spend more time in Liverpool this autumn when she stars in a production of Antony and Cleopatra
in the city, and the 53-year-old star can't wait to tackle the role of the iconic Egyptian queen.
She added to the Daily Mail
newspaper: "Cleopatra's such a fascinating woman to explore and I'm excited to get back to doing Shakespeare."
Kim, who traced her ancestors last year on the TV show Who Do You Think You Are?
, recently revealed she feels strong ties to her Liverpool-born mother's family because of her favorite drink.
She explained: "I come from a long line of strong Scouse women. It is not just an accent, it's almost a constitution -- held together by tea. Growing up, I remember there was always a pot on the back burner, and during the filming of Who Do You Think You Are?
the bonding always seemed to happen over a cup of tea."
