Kim Cattrall (Pacific Coast News) Warning for the ladies: playing a maneater on a hit TV show will not help your love life.
Kim Cattrall, who played the infamous man-a-nizing Samantha on
Sex and the City, says her alter-ego drives men away.
The single 50-something actress told
Ellen DeGeneres: “It's very difficult... Writing a book about the female orgasm didn't help my dating career either! Men like to think that they know it all, especially in that department.”
Her new role in
Meet Monica Velour -- as an ageing porn star who turns to stripping -- might not help her attract already intimidated men. But Cattrall describes the story line as a "sweet" one.
“It's about this woman in her 50s who meets this young man who's 17 and they have a relationship of sorts. It's very sweet and very dear," she said.
This might be the first time a stripping movie elicits "dear" feelings.
