Pop singer
Ciara recently unveiled a new hairstyle on her
Twitter, crediting hairstylist Kiyah Wright for the look. But Ciara's new 'do is not really a cut, after all: those of you who miss her long, shiny locks will be happy to learn that she still has them. They're just really compressed.
Wright, who has also worked with
Tyra Banks,
Gabrielle Union, and
Iman, told
BellaSugar last week that Ciara had come to her wanting a shorter 'do for the summer: "She wanted to do the Halle Berry, but I thought, 'We need a little sexy, we need a little swagger in front, so let's just give it a little bit of lift.'"
Wright, inspired by the classic, mod Vidal Sassoon cut, used a hair piece to achieve the look. Ciara's real hair is likely wrapped very tightly beneath a wig cap.
Whatever the case, this style really works for Ciara. Let's hope it's not as difficult to keep up as it was to achieve!
