At the Olympics the high jump is all about soaring to new heights, and these breakout stars definitely did that this year!
Carly Rae Jepsen gave us the smash hit earworm of the summer, "Call Me Maybe," Channing Tatum had a Magic year at the box office, and Jennifer Lawrence delivered a pitch perfect portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. And don't forget about One Direction, the biggest British boy band since The Beatles; or Kylie and Kendall Jenner, who stepped out of their sisters' shadows and nabbed their own headlines with fashion spreads and book deals.
