Reid visited Good Day LA to chat about the major changes in store for the singing competition's second season.

According to Reid, producers are looking to expand the talent pool substantially. "One way of raising the bar of the talent we're looking for, is that we allow contestants to come in who already have managers and agents," he shared. "Last year they wouldn't have qualified. This year they do qualify. The whole idea here is to raise the bar for the talent we're going to find."

Reid also said that Simon Cowell is focused on upping the groups game. "Simon in particular wants more groups. I just want great talent," he teased.

The second season of The X Factor will premiere sometime in the fall of 2012.
