Baby-Sitters Club fans, say hello to your friends!
Can you believe it's already been twenty years since Ann M. Martin's beloved book series was released as a big-screen adaptation? The best-selling young adult books followed a group of friends who ran a booming baby-sitting business for their neighborhood kids. The series took place in the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut and started out with four original club members, who eventually grew into ten. Along the way, the quirky and tight-knit friends learned important life lessons about family, friendship, love, hard work, and perseverance. Basically, anyone who read the books wanted to instantaneously become a part of The Baby-Sitters Club. The popularity of the timeless book series eventually led to the production of the 1995 film.
To celebrate the movie's milestone anniversary, the cast got together for a screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas on Tuesday night. Director Melanie Mayron was in attendance, along with stars Rachael Leigh Cook (Mary Anne), Schuyler Fisk (Kristy), Larisa Oleynik (Dawn), Bre Blair (Stacey), Stacey Ramsower (Mallory), and Marla Skoloff (Cokie Mason). Noticeably absent were Tricia Joe (Claudia) and Zelda Harris (Jessi). However, the other actresses shared a plethora of awesome photos on their Instagram accounts and gave fans a few glimpses of the fun reunion. After two decades, the ladies have certainly grown up, and their lasting friendship has only heightened our '90s nostalgia. How big of a Baby-Sitters Club fan were you?
