You better brush up on your etiquette because the Crawleys are eyeing a return.

It hasn’t even been two years since Downton Abbey concluded, but a movie is already being planned! The president of NBCUniversal Studios, Michael Edelstein, confirmed on Wednesday that the film has, in fact, “been in the works for some time.”

Oh, sweeter words have never been uttered by a studio executive! Production for the movie is slated to begin in 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited for it.

“We are working on getting the script right and then we’ve got to figure out how to get the [cast] together,” Edelstein revealed during the opening of “Downton Abbey: The Exhibition” in Singapore. “Because as you know, people go on and do other things. But we’re hopeful to make a movie sometime next year.”

Although several actors aren’t officially signed on, Edelstein stated that he hoped to get 20 returning cast members for the forthcoming film.

(Oh, Lady Sybil, how we miss you! *cue hysterical crying*)

Sophie McShera, who played the adorable and scrappy Daisy, recently discussed her thoughts about the project and whether she's been asked to return. “Oh, well, you’ve got confirmation before us. We have no idea if that’s happening,” she revealed. “But we would all love to be part of the film if it was to happen, for sure.”

Laura Carmichael, who portrayed the perpetually despondent and unlucky Lady Edith, also commented on the Downton Abbey movie. “Well, tell my agent, because we’re still wanting to know,” explained Carmichael. “We’re hoping that will happen soon.”

Hmmm... we wonder if Michelle Dockery (a.k.a Lady Mary) has already signed on before her younger, on-screen sister.

The popular British drama, which quickly turned into an international phenomena, concluded back in December 2015 with a Christmas special. In the U.S., the series finale aired on PBS in March 2016.

Clearly, a ton of Downton Abbey love still persists. Fans have been asking for the Crawleys to return for some time now, and it looks like they are getting their wish.
