It's not standard practice for a couple to invite their exes to their wedding — unless you happen to be Ross and Rachel (of Friends greatness), a member of the royal family, or an ex-contestant of The Bachelor.
In case you missed it, Arie Luyendyk Jr., otherwise known as the most hated Bachelor in America, wed Lauren Burnham on Saturday, January 12. Burnham was the first runner-up on the hit dating show's 22nd season. Their wedding comes ten months after their controversial engagement, when Luyendyk unceremoniously dumped his first wifey pick, Becca Kufrin, on live television to be with Burnham instead.
A quick refresher for anyone who's not a card-carrying member of Bachelor nation: After he professed his love to the final two contestants, Kufrin and Burnham, he proposed to Kufrin. However, weeks later, he realized he made a colossal mistake. Burnham was the one who had his heart after all, so he broke things off with Kufrin. The breakup was highly publicized because he asked a camera crew to document the dumping — long after the season finished. Why? No one knows. He proposed to Burnham later on, and the two announced they were expecting their first child in November 2018.
Unsurprisingly, he received massive backlash when the breakup aired. So much so that Minnesota representative Drew Christensen proposed a bill to ban Luyendyk from ever returning to Kufrin's home state. Celebrities like Charlize Theron expressed disgust over Luyendyk's decision. Even former Bachelor Sean Lowe thought filming the breakup was in poor taste.
But hey, you know what? That's all in the past now. As evidenced by Luyendyk and Burnham's dreamy wedding in Hawaii over the weekend, they're well on their way to living happily ever after!
Several familiar faces were in attendance, including ex-Bachelor contestants like Seinne Fleming, Jenna Cooper, and Marikh Matias. If you think about it, these people are Luyendyk's exes, given that they all dated on the show. Still, they were happy to witness the couple exchange "I do's." It's a weird world, but who are we to judge?
Without further ado, here are the members of the Bachelor Nation who were present at Luyendyk and Burnham's wedding.
