Well, it's the end of an era: The Hills
is officially going off the air after the upcoming season finishes, the show's creator announced today. The sixth season of the MTV reality show that gave stars like Lauren Conrad
and Audrina Patridge
spots on the red carpet kicks of April 27, that's it. Lauren Conrad (Photo Agency)
The ratings for the reality show went way down last season, and it looks like everyone's pretty much had enough of the gang and their drama-filled LA lives.
"I think we've told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.," said Adam DiVello, the show's mastermind (via Us
magazine). "A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths."
That's for sure: Lauren is now a best-selling author as well as designer, Heidi Montag
tried her hand at singing and is now diving into movie acting. Her marriage to Spencer Pratt will apparently be one of the focuses of the show's final 12 episodes, along with her infamous plastic surgery frenzy. And, it sounds like it'll be juicy. "Our cameras are there that minute the mother opens the door and sees her daughter for the first time," said DiVello.
