Until halftime, the Super Bowl was missing a few things — dancing sharks, a giant metal cat, and Missy Elliot, for starters. Luckily, Katy Perry had all of the above (and more!) covered during her firework-filled show.
The performance was predictably over-the-top and mostly awesome. In case you're not one of the bazillion people who watched it, here are the highlights:

Giant Metal Lion (Tiger?)
The jury's still out on whether the giant robot animal thing Perry rode out on was a lion or a tiger, but, regardless, it was pretty cool. She belted "Roar" while standing on it and we give her lots of kudos for not falling off — especially in those giant sparkly heels.

Lenny Kravitz Singing 'I Kissed a Girl'
And he liked it.
Kravitz's crooning was everything you'd expect from the rocker — extreme and slightly awkward. He and Perry sort of grinded up against each other and at that point he was showing more cleavage than her. It was entertaining.

Dancing Sharks
For the "Teenage Dream" and "California Gurls" portion of the performance, the stage was made to look like an island and the stage was filled with dancers in retro bikinis and, best of all, dancing sharks. Even better: Snoop Dogg claimed he was one of the sharks.

Hot Dog on a Stick Costume
Did anyone notice that her beach ball outfit also looked a bit like a Hot Dog on a Stick uniform? Okay, cool.

Missy Elliot in General
"Get Your Freak On" and "Work It" transported us back to the glorious early '00s. We still don't know the words to the chorus and neither does Katy Perry. Missy Elliot's still got it, that's for sure.

The Flying Fireworks
For her final number, Perry belted out "Firework" while flying on a shooting star platform. Of course. It looked pretty amazing as she soared over the crowd and, again, we're thankful she didn't fall.

Lots of Leg
The songstress didn't show much cleavage (by her standards) during the show, but her left leg made a very noticeable appearance as she flew during "Firework."
