Louis Oosthuizen Wins British Open 2010

(Getty Images)more pics »Louis Oostuizen of South Africa won the British Open today after he held out his steady play today and came out ahead by 7 shots, according to the Telegraph. He finished the tournament with a round of 71 and became the 4th South African to lift the Claret Jug.

He beat Paul Casey, who gave him a run for his money during most of the play, but ultimately couldn't catch up. He also beat John Daly and his wacky pants, and Tiger Woods. He was the unlikely winner, some would say, as he missed the cut in his three previous appearances at the Open, and was ranked 54th in the world.

Prior to this win, his best finish at a tournament of this caliber was 73rd at the 2008 PGA championships! The 27-year-old, whose nickname is "Shrek," sure has plenty to celebrate tonight!
