Three weeks after a dramatic ATV accident that nearly took her life, Jamie Lynn Spears' 8-year-old daughter Maddie Aldridge has fully recovered.
Aldridge was reported as being in very serious condition by TMZ after her ATV flipped unexpectedly. She was underwater "for several minutes and unconscious," and later air-lifted to a nearby hospital. While it was originally reported that Spears was not present at the time, subsequent details revealed she was, in fact, on the scene with her daughter. Spears' husband Jamie Watson was also present.
On Friday, Feb. 10, Watson posted a picture to Instagram of the family leaving the hospital.
"Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover," Watson wrote. "Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed."
On Saturday, Feb. 25, Spears posted her own update on Maddie, informing fans her daughter was officially back to her old self.
"So blessed to say that my daughter has fully recovered, and returned to all her normal activities," Spears wrote. "Which means I had to as well, today is my first day back to work. I want to thank everyone again for all their prayers...God truly blessed us with a miracle.. love y'all <3 #Godisgood"
25-year-old Spears, who had Maddie when she was 17 years old, is best known for her role as Zoey Brooks in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101. She is the younger sister of pop sensation Britney Spears and the daughter of Lynne and Jamie Spears.
