(Getty)Mariah Carey is giving her so-called "lambily" a lot to look forward to this fall. A few weeks ago, the diva confirmed that she'd be filling a judge's seat on American Idol — and she'll have an album to plug while she's at it.
On Thursday, Carey released "Triumphant (Get 'Em)," the first single from her upcoming 14th studio album. The song, which will be available for purchase on iTunes August 7, features guest verses from rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Co-producer and co-writer Bryan-Michael Cox told MTV that this release is particularly special to Mariah, whose last non-holiday release was 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel: "This song is kind of inspirational. It's close to her heart, and I think her fans are going to really, really be emotionally attached to this song."
Carey told media in a conference call Thursday to expect more special guests on the full-length album: "I'm collaborating with a lot of my favorite people but the main thing is [that] I'm not trying to follow any particular trend. I want it to be well received. I want to stay true to myself and the music that I love and make the fans happy."
