The princess and the basket case are together again!
Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy hit the red carpet at SXSW to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Breakfast Club. Yes, 30th! The ladies did a Q&A session after a screening of the '80s cult classic, and both stars agreed that the movie is timeless.
"The movie has this message that in spite of people's differences, there is something unifying in the experience of growing up and trying to find yourself," Sheedy said.
"I was really loving the work that I was doing," Ringwald added. "[Director] John [Hughes] and I had a symbiotic, respectful relationship. I didn't know I'd be talking about it 30 years later! But it was a great experience."
Sheedy continued with the Breakfast Club love-fest. "It was the first time I felt like I really belonged. It was a very special family," she said. "I didn't have a group like that when I was in high school at all. It was a really happy time in my life."
In honor of the 30th anniversary, The Breakfast Club is being screened at theaters across the country Thursday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 31. Get on it, you basket cases.
