Nicole Kidman had a very eventful Emmys night on Sunday that included huge wins, both for Big Little Lies and her mouth. After her co-star, Alexander Skarsgård, won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, Kidman planted a juicy smooch on his lips before he hit the stage.
While the kiss was likely a show of platonic love and appreciation for the actor, it certainly raised eyebrows among viewers — especially considering that Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, was standing right next to them at the time.
Skarsgård was up against The Night Of's Bill Camp and Michael K. Williams, Alfred Molina and Stanley Tucci of Feud, and Fargo's David Thewlis for the competitive honor, which is good to know but wholly unimportant because THIS KISS, THOUGH.
Later on, Kidman went home with the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie for Big Little Lies, another huge accomplishment completely overshadowed by this unexpected makeout sesh.
Our best jab at an explanation is that the two are simply the friendliest of friends.
