Breaking Dawn. She was flying out of LAX just as news broke that the young actress is dating
American Idol contestant
Paul McDonald.
"[Nikki's] supercool," Paul told
Us Weekly Thursday. "She's been real supportive of this whole thing. She's actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show."
Paul is preparing to launch into his solo career in earnest now that his stint on
Idol is over. Meanwhile Nikki has at least one more movie to film in the
Twilight franchise, but Paul says he hasn't seen her on the big screen yet, and doesn't plan to anytime soon.
"I haven't ever actually watched any of her movies," he said. "I don't know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool." He wont on: "I told her I'm not watching any of [her movies] for a long time… She said, 'I don't want you watching' and I was like 'I don't want to!'"
