It's hard to imagine what a Nirvana-Beatles collaboration would sound like, but audiences pretty much got the closest possible thing to that Friday night. The surviving Nirvana members rocked out with Paul McCartney
for seven (yes, seven!) songs during his Seattle concert. Dave Grohl
, Krist Novoselic
and Pat Smear
sang with the former Beatle on “Cut Me Some Slack,” “Get Back," a cover of Little Richard’s “Long Time Sally," “s,” “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End."
They didn't do "Smells Like Teen Spirit," unfortunately. Hey, maybe next time.
