We're always up for a friendly wager, but Pete Wentz
has gone a step (or 85) further than we'd ever go: He got a tattoo of Cobra Starship singer Gabe Saporta
's face on his leg, because the band's album went platinum, and Pete was betting it wouldn't. That's a tough loss, and, well, a permanent gain for Pete. Pete Wentz got Gabe Saporta's face tattooed on his leg after losing a bet. (mtv.com)
The Fall Out Boy singer said in a statement (via MTV
): "Well, I promised Gabe if Good Girls Go Bad
went platinum, I would let him pick a tattoo to put on me. A man with such humble beginnings, of course, chose a self-portrait."
The tattoo features Saporta's face in black-and-white ink, with "Gabey Baby Made Me Go Bad" written around it. We guess we respect a man who holds up his end of a bargain, but we also think he's plain nuts. And we wonder what Ashlee
had to say about the latest monkey business.
This isn't the first stunt these two have pulled in their public "rivalry." At the VMAs, the Fall Out Boy frontman wore a shirt with Gabe's phone number written in gigantic letters across it. Even though the numbers didn't air for the world to see, it did enough damage that the singer had to change his digits. But, Pete also had to switch his email address after Gabe announced it, in Spanish, at Los Premios MTV a few weeks later.
The dudes might have competing bands, but they're actually quite good friends, supposedly. They just like to have a good time. Or something.
