Donald Glover has officially signed on to play a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie, and it's literally impossible to think of anyone better for the part. Glover's easy charm should make him a perfect fit for the legendary scoundrel. He'll be working across from Alden Ehrenreich, who'll be playing Han in the as-yet-untitled movie. Glover's casting was announced on StarWars.com with a statement from co-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
"We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," the wrote. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."
Glover is probably best known for Community, but he's also appeared in movies such as Magic Mike XXL and The Martian and is currently starring in Atlanta. He's also known by his hip-hop moniker Childish Gambino.
