Philip Seymour Hoffman
Mimi O'Donnell (Mario Magnani/Bauer Griffin)
was found dead today at his NYC apartment at the age of 46. He allegedly died of a drug overdose, but the information has not been confirmed.
Few details have emerged so far, but we do know he leaves behind longtime love Mimi O'Donnell, a costume designer he met in the late '90s, and their three children. It appears that he and O'Donnell had never married.
They welcomed a son, Cooper Alexander, in 2003, and then had daughter Tallulah in 2006 and daughter Willa in 2008. Our thoughts go out to his family.
Hoffman had struggled with addiction in the past, but was said to have been clean for 23 years before falling off the wagon in 2012. He most recently checked into rehab in May.
