Filming for the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone movie has officially begun, which means we finally get to see what the cast looks like all together. The first image from the set of the film shows Alden Ehrenreich in a leather jacket that looks more Indiana Jones than Han Solo, but the resemblance and attitude don't leave much doubt. This is our new Han. He's flanked by Phoebe Waller-Bridge on his right and Emilia Clarke on his left. Both actresses are playing as-yet-unnamed characters, but there's no mistaking that wookiee in the upper right.
Squeezed in under Chewbacca is Phil Lord and his buddy/co-director Chris Miller is the guy kneeling under Woody Harrelson, who's playing Han's sort-of-mentor Garris Shrike. Rounding out the photo on the far right is ringer Donald Glover who's been brought in to play a young Lando Calrissian.
They're all sitting in the cockpit of what definitely appears to be the Millennium Falcon, and we're guessing based on the info we have that we might even get to see how Han came to own the ship in the movie.
In a story posted to StarWars.com, Lord and Miller jointly said, "Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous. We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”
We can't wait to see the results!
