Fresh off the acquisition of a permanent seat on The View, Raven-Symoné has reappeared on the Disney channel.
Alongside teen queen Zendaya, the 29-year-old fulfilled a role on K.C., Undercover, on Labor Day.
As a quick recap, Raven starred in her own self-named Disney show, That's So Raven, from 2003 to late 2007. A quick-witted funny girl who just so happened to have psychic powers, the actress was relatable, fun, and endearingly quirky. The show was a hit, nominated for BET's Outstanding Comedy Series award as well as the Primetime Emmys' Outstanding Children's Program.
Not only is Raven the youngest of The View's hosts, she's also one of the more controversial – and, of course, controversy equals views. And though she is of African-American descent and same-sex-oriented, she's said she prefers not to be "labeled" by either of these terms.
While it's not vastly unusual for a controversial figure to have gotten their start at Disney, it is unusual for those figures to return to the network.
Despite Raven's strong statements, however, it seems Disney is fully supportive of their vet.
After all, she is hilarious. And a mermaid.
