This week, pop superstar Rihanna
is back in her homeland of Barbados, where she was scheduled to perform a homecoming concert at Bridgetown's Kensington Oval on Friday evening. Unfortunately, the concert was "postponed indefinitely" last week due to "difficulties associated with the transport of equipment" (uh huh), but don't worry — Rihanna's still getting paid to go out in public.
According to a post on Rihanna's brother's Instagram account,
the singer is hosting an "exclusive party" at Barbados' Sugar Ultra Lounge on the very evening she was once set to perform. Fans who pay the $50 cover (which is probably chump change compared to what they shelled out on those tickets they won't be using) will likely get the pleasure of watching Rihanna snap selfies with her sunglasses on from the VIP section.
But hey: Maybe this "exclusive party" is a better buy in the long run, considering the reviews Rihanna's stage show has been getting over the past couple of months. The singer showed up three hours late for her performance in Puerto Rico earlier this month, and has been accused of acting bored and listless on stage.
Oh, and if you expected an apology for that "indefinitely postponed" show, sorry. This one's unapologetic, remember?
