Metallica's new movie, Metallica: Through the Never
, is an experience as strange as its name. It's a concert movie that isn't just a concert movie. Besides delivering hit-after-hit filmed on a stage that's a work of art in itself, the movie weaves in the story of a roadie, played by Dane DeHaan
) who encounters all manner of weirdness in his quest to recover a very special bag for the band.
We had a chance to talk to the guys in Metallica as well as DeHaan, director Nimród Antal
(pronounced, he assures us, "Nimrod, like the derogatory slang, Antal"), and producer Charlotte Huggins at the movie's red carpet premiere in San Francisco on Sept. 16. Check out the coverage below as well as a trailer for the movie, which opens Friday in IMax.Trailer
