The burden of being dead weighs heavily on a person, and Game of Thrones' Kit Harington is not immune.
The actor opened up about keeping the Lord Commander of all secrets on Friday's Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, admitting that while the truth was well concealed, there were some [surprising] people he'd confided in:
"Okay, one policeman knew," he admitted. "I was driving back from my parents' house and I was driving too fast, I was just being a bit naughty. I was going over the speed limit and I feel the sirens go off behind me and this policeman comes up, pulls me over."
So, Harington said, he made one small exception for the betterment of his wallet:
"He said, 'Look, there's two ways we can do this: You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones,'" Harington said.
When the actor spilled the beans, the policeman was more inclined to let him off easy:
"He says, 'Mhm. On your way, Lord Commander.'"
And that was that. Though Harington also admitted he told his parents and girlfriend Rose Leslie, face behind the late Wildling Ygritte:
"I told Mum and Dad straight away. It's Mum and Dad. No one else...well, my girlfriend knew. A few people knew quite quickly. They're all very trusted people."
Speaking of Leslie, praise be to the Lord of Light that they're finally public. In early April, we reported the on-again, off-again couple had been seen out together on multiple occasions; while they didn't publicly address their status at the time, Harington sang her praises in a recent Vogue Italia interview.
When asked what his favorite memory of filming the show was, Harington recalled Iceland:
"Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it's becomes very easy to fall in love."
Game of Thrones returns to HBO May 15.
