On Friday, director Jon Favreau revealed that the multitalented Donald Glover would star as Simba in the upcoming live-action remake of The Lion King. (Hold on one second while we jump for joy.)

Favreau made the announcement via Twitter and Variety later confirmed the news.

If that weren't good enough, there's also the casting of Mufasa.

Favreau also revealed that the legendary James Earl Jones would reprise his role as Simba's dad Mufasa, because, you know, the only person who should ever voice Mufasa is James Earl Jones.

Though we would have really loved to see John Legend lend his singing chops to the role of Simba, we're so down with this casting.
