'The Voice' Season 4, Episode 20 Recap: Adam and Blake Dominate the New Judges

(NBC)The final eight have been chosen! Find out who's sticking around for another week, and get the skinny on the performances you might have missed.

This week's eliminations episode opens with a heart wrenching performance of "Over You" by coach Blake Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert. The song, originally written about the death of Blake Shelton's brother, is dedicated to the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes.

Then Shakira takes the stage with her team (at this point, Sasha Allen and Kris Thomas) for a performance of The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You." Shakira yodels her heart out in a pair of sparkly thigh-high boots, because that's what superstars do. Sasha sounds angelic, Kris sounds a little too practiced, and Shakira sounds like Shakira. There is no belly dancing involved, however.

This week's promotional moment arrives in the form of Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, who are happily promoting that new car movie they have coming out. Apparently Vin, who doesn't remove her sunglasses, is a real fan of the show. He invites everyone in the audience to the Hollywood premiere on Friday. It would have been more exciting if he'd done it Tyra-style.

Now it's time for the coaches to talk about their feelings. Adam is confident and loves his ladies. Shakira says she can be "almost like a lioness" in defense of her team, which explains her hair. Usher says he's just doing his best, man. Blake jokes that he has diarrhea.

Next comes the hokey interview segment, where we learn what the contestants and coaches would be doing if they weren't performers. Danielle would be a hair and makeup artist for Blake, Cee-Lo would be an exotic dancer (HA!), Pharrell would be Willy Wonka, Adam would be a secret agent (or a shoveler of elephant crap in the circus, Blake insists), Michelle a puppeteer, Zach a voice actor, and Shakira a contortionist. That makes sense.

The first artists saved until next week are Team Blake's Danielle Bradbery and Team Adam's Judith Hill.

Then Team Blake sings Alabama's "Mountain Music," and it's pretty delightful, even if the fiddlers kind of steal the show.

Next saved: Team Usher's Michelle Chamuel and Team Shakira's Sasha Allen.

The area up by the stage is transformed into an intimate little lounge for Team Usher's performance of "The Look of Love," and ha! Usher's the only one who doesn't sing on key the whole time. But I would totally pay to see Michelle sing in a casino lounge.

Saved: Sarah Simmons of Team Adam.

What follows is Team Adam's colorful rendition of "I Got the Music in Me." Given that Adam's team is probably the strongest in terms of pure vocal might, it's no big surprise that it works.

Saved: Team Blake's Holly Tucker.

Now there are four artists left: Amber Carrington and the dudes. Zach Swon jokes that if he and his brother go home tonight, he has someone to blame it on.

Saved: Team Adam's Amber Carrington and Team Blake's Swon Brothers.

Team Usher's Josiah Hawley and Team Shakira's Kris Thomas are sent home. Yeah: I called this, kind of. Until next week!

Team Adam: Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons, Amber Carrington
Team Blake: Danielle Bradbery, Holly Tucker, The Swon Brothers
Team Usher: Michelle Chamuel
Team Shakira: Sasha Allen
