Talk about random. Shannen Doherty was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night with a composite score higher than half her competition.
With Tuesday night's DWTS elimination round we saw just how much power the audience has and how little the judges' scores sway them. While Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin had found themselves with the lowest composite scores in the competition, their many many call-in fans saved them both from elimination. Meanwhile Shannen and Pamela Anderson, who had charmed the judges with her Marilyn Monroe homage on Monday, found themselves the least popular contestants according to the show's fans.
Upon her elimination, Shannen gave a gracious good-bye. "I think that dancing isn't really my thing," Doherty said. "I'm an actor and it's what I love to do. I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted. And I think it's fate, my partner is hurt."

It goes to show that the media focus on the show's other stars, positive or otherwise, simply served to help them get the fan support they needed. The judges might like Pamela Anderson, but if she can't find a way to charm the audience, she's not long for the show.
