In what may be the biggest upset of the night, HBO's Veep has put an end to Modern Family's Best Comedy win streak at the Emmys.

Now in its fourth season, the political satire is a stark contrast to the awkward, relatable humor for which Modern Family is known. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as Selina Meyer, the realest Vice President of the United States you'll ever see.

Family was on track this year to win its sixth consecutive Best Comedy Series title, a feat that would have broken records, usurping '90s sitcom Frasier.

Louis-Dreyfus also took home the statuette for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy, rendering Sunday night a massive evening for the TV veteran.

"I think it would be appropriate at this moment to quote our political satire, Veep," she said as she accepted the award. "What a great honor it must be for you to honor me tonight...oh God, no, Donald Trump said that. It's getting trickier and trickier to satirize this stuff."
