One of the great villains of Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead comic series is coming to the small screen and, although fans have suspected as much for some time, that villain is Negan. According to THR, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been chosen to portray the slicked back psycho and he'll reportedly appear in the Greg Nicotero-directed Season Six finale on April 3, 2016.
Morgan, the poor man's Javier Bardem, should prove a formidable presence. He's known as a physical actor (Watchmen, Magic City), although he's not Henry Rollins, the man the character's look was based on. Morgan won the role over actors such as Matt Dillon, Timothy Olyphant, and Garrett Dillahunt.
Negan is the leader of the Saviors, a violent group of more than 50 survivors who extort the weak for "protection." Negan made his first appearance in the comic's 100th issue when he meets Rick Grimes for the first time. He's known for his frequent use of the F-word and his weapon of choice: a barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat named "Lucille." We won't reveal any more, but he's involved in a major character's death in the comic and he makes the Governor pale in comparison.
