Taraji P. Henson just won a Golden Globe for her role as Empire's Cookie, and you'd better believe she's thrilled.
After receiving the honor for Best Actress in a TV Drama, she exclaimed, "Who knew an ex-con would take me all around the globe?" following it up with a triumphant laugh.
Is now a good time to discuss how much we love her?
Fellow contenders for the honor included Caitriona Balfe, Viola Davis, Eva Green, and Robin Wright. It was her second time receiving the same nomination as Davis, who took home the historic Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2015.
As she was thanking those who'd helped her to accomplish her performance, her cue to wrap it up flashed. She wasn't shy in response: "Please wrap? Wait a minute, I've waited 20 years for this, you're gonna wait."
She went on to shout out Empire co-star Terrence Howard, who could also be seen in the audience: "I'm nothing without you. Cookie is nothing without Lucious. Thank you so much."
Part of the fun of the Globes is watching hard-working stars accept the acknowledgement they deserve. Congrats, Taraji P. Henson!
