Alexander SkarsgardAliens respond to a communications signal on Earth and splash down in Pearl Harbor, unleashing a slew of robotic buzzsaws that carve up the landscape and terrorize everyone. Based on the Hasbro board game so you know it will be good.

Larry CharlesStarring:
Sacha Baron Cohen,
Anna Faris,
Ben KingsleyA hilariously offensive jab at the power of Middle Eastern dictators, Cohen's newest incarnation is a ruthless manchild who is usurped by his brother (Kingsley) and let loose in New York City. Vowing to stop democracy, Admiral General Aladeen brings his crass, sexist, and tyrannical insanity to the States where he falls in love with a "hairy lesbian boy" (Faris) and tries to win his country back.

Kirk JonesStarring:
Cameron Diaz,
Jennifer Lopez,
Elizabeth Banks,
Chris Rock,
Dennis Quaid,
Anna Kendrick, Decker,
Chace Crawford,
Matthew MorrisonA look at the lives of five couples, each experiencing the pains of raising children. This looks like a formulaic snoozefest along the lines of
New Year's Eve or
Valentine's Day, but the director, Jones (
Waking Ned Devine), and writer,
Shauna Cross (
Whip It), have actually done some good work. Despite this, and the cast of funny dads (see trailer), it's doubtful this movie won't make you regret seeing it.
See it? Nope.HysteriaDirected by:
Tanya WexlerStarring:
Maggie Gyllenhaal,
Hugh Dancy,
Jonathan Pryce A cutesy period dramedy about a doctor (Dancy) who invents the first vibrator and elicits a tidal
wave of tongue-in-cheek British wise cracks from every woman in town. Gyllenhaal returns to the realm of female sexuality which made her a star (
Secretary), albeit in a much more tame context. She is always worth watching and Dancy's star is on the rise after last year's
Martha Marcy May Marlene and his arc as a cancer patient on Showtime's
The Big C. See it for the exceptional cast.

Dustin Lance BlackStarring:
Jennifer Connelly,
Ed Harris,
Amy MadiganMilk writer Black's directorial debut has recieved mostly negative reviews from festival critics. The story centers on a sheriff (Harris) who runs for the senate but watches his campaign crumble when his daughter starts dating the son of an uneven woman (Connelly) with whom he's carried on an affair for 20 years. The critics have lambasted the writing and directing of Black, but this is another movie where the cast could carry it through.
See it? Sure.American Animal (Limited)Directed by:
Matt D'EliaStarring: D'Elia,
Brendan Fletcher,
Mircea Monroe,
Angela SarafyanThe weirdest and perhaps best film of the week may be
American Animal, a wildly funny and strange film about a dying man who leaps headlong into madness when he discovers his best friend is leaving for a new job in the morning. D'Elia, who recalls a young
Vincent Gallo, certainly has the charisma to carry a film and he seems to be surrounded by actors who are all in with him.
