The new princess is here, and she's adorable.
Just like when Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, William and Kate emerged from the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital to introduce their daughter to world just hours after the baby's birth. Wrapped in an ivory blanket in her mother's arms, her tiny royal highness slept through her debut.
Kate looked lovely less than 12 hours after giving birth. Wearing a yellow and white floral dress (a custom Jenny Packham, just like the blue dress she wore after George's birth), the Duchess of Cambridge smiled and waved at the visitors who had gathered to meet the little princess. Earlier today, big brother Prince George also came by the hospital with his dad to meet his new sister.
The new addition to the royal family was born at 8:34 am London time and weighed in at 8 lbs and 3 oz. The announcement was first made on social media, however the traditional announcement easel was still placed just inside the gates of Buckingham Palace.
The new princess is historic because, under changed succession rules, she will be the first heir in nearly 1,000 years to keep her place in the succession line even if her parents eventually have another boy.
Congrats to the royal family!
