In her acceptance speech, she acknowledged those that have helped keep in ego in check: random Internet commentators writing mean things about her. She them named them off and told each one to "suck it." You can watch the whole thing below.
The funniest part of it all is that she didn't just make these names up out of thin air. BabsonLacrosse, DianeFan and Cougar Letter are all real people, frequent commenters to LA Times' “Gold Derby Forums.” DianeFan was first back on scene after Fey's call-out, writing: “I’m famous. She mentioned BabsonLacrosse too. Sorry Tina Fey but I still don’t think you deserved to win.”
Furthering the intrigue, it turns out that Cougar Letter and DianeFan are one and the same commenter, and that BabsonLacrosse isn't even a hater, writing back back in December: "Tina Fey and Christina Applegate are the 2 best comedic actresses on TV right now." You can read an in-depth investigation of the now-famous commenters over at Gawker.
LA Times' TV writer and Gold Derby Forum head honcho Tom O'Neil found Fey afterward and apologized for his forum members. Fey wryly noted that if nothing else, the hub-hub will be good for traffic. Watch the clip below: More pictures of Tina Fey and 30 Rock cast:
