In California there is tight competition in the Democratic primary race for the 21st District Assembly race. This according to local Palo Alto and Menlo Park news outlet The Almanac
: Rich Gordon, a three-term San Mateo County supervisor and Menlo Park resident, has a strong lead in the Democratic primary race for the 21st District Assembly race, early election results show.
Mr. Gordon, who at 9:10 p.m. had 38.35 percent of the votes counted thus far, is in a three-way race to replace the termed-out Ira Ruskin.
Josh Becker, an entrepreneur and Menlo Park resident, was in second place with 31.69 percent of the vote.
Former Palo Alto Councilwoman Yoriko Kishimoto had 29.96 percent of the vote.
Greg Conlon of Atherton is running unopposed for the Republican seat. But because the district is heavily Democratic, the winner of the Democratic primary is almost certain to go to Sacramento in January.
