What do Uma Thurman, Al Pacino, Wesley Snipes, Martin Scorcese and Sylvester Stallone all have in common? Besides being some of the most recognizable names in Hollywood, they were also unfortunately scammed in a $30 million Ponzi scheme.

Kenneth Starr (NYDN.com) According to People.com, financial advisor Kenneth Starr was arrested yesterday for carrying out the plan. Thurman confronted him when she realized a million dollars was missing from her bank account, and even though Starr put it back (by allegedly stealing from another couple) word started getting around that this guy was definitely suspicious.

Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, said during a press conference, "Starr had an M.O. that has become unfortunately familiar in recent times. He used his access to famous and powerful clients to burnish an image of trustworthiness, inducing them to entrust him with management and control of their financial affairs."

Indeed, it all does sound familiar. Incidentally, Starr and Bernard Madoff used to work in the same office building.
