Liam Hemsworth Reportedly Set to Star in 'Independence Day' Sequel

Welcome to Earth, Liam.

The Hemsworth takeover of Hollywood is almost complete.

TheWrap reports that Baby Hemsworth, aka Liam, has been offered the lead role in the Independence Day sequel, ID Forever. Yes, the same Liam Hemsworth that is best known for playing Gale in the Hunger Games films and once possessed enough naivety to ask Miley Cyrus to marry him. That sensation you're feeling is your mind being blown.

Notably missing from the ID Forever roster is Will Smith, whose star power shot into the stratosphere after the 1996 original. We're still holding out hope that the filmmakers will find a way to involve Smith, but we think Liam Hemsworth will make a pretty awesome heir to the alien punching throne. After all....

He's got the swagger:
