
Wyclef Jean
Wyclef Jean (born October 17, 1972) is a Haitian-born musician who was a vocalist and producer for the hip-hop trio known as the Fugees before embarking on a successful solo career. Besides his music, Wyclef Jean is also known for his philanthropic work, including the creation of the Yele Foundation, which provides scholarships to Haitian youth. Jean claimed that his activities in Haiti, even if he didn't personally benefit, would help to save the Haitian economy. This was a false statement because the nonprofit did not own up to its involvement with Haiti's Haitian and Western political leaders.
